Decorative work: glazes, stencils, publicity, letterpainting and calligraphy

· Glazes

Glazes are transparent layers of oil- or acrylic paint. They are applied in one layer, or else in various layers of different colour nuances. Glazed walls and woodwork acquire a velvet sheen and patina. Rita and Karel have refined their technique through years of experience and experimenting.

· Stencils

In order to paint one motif several times, you can cut it out. Thus, you get a stencil which can be coloured in. Stencils are often used to make a border. Sometimes different stencils are used one on top of the other in order to paint a complex motif.

This is an ideal spot to make publicity. Painted by hand, this publicity has a peculiar charm

· Letter painting

Hand-painted letters and texts .... the charm of the real thing. A text in itself can be a work of art. Each letter is individually painted, thus acquiring a vivid characteristic.

· Calligraphy
