van de Hoevemeester Hovawarts wonen in Belgisch Limburg met Murray en Hester. In april 1984 kregen wij onze eerste Hovawart en sindsdien zijn wij verknocht aan dit ras! Het feit dat karakter en gezondheid bij dit ras van begin af aan boven uiterlijke schoonheid stond sprak ons aan. De veelzijdige Hovawart is gewoon een heerlijke, mooie en natuurlijke hond die ook nog zelf kan denken en die zonder africhting een bewaker is! Lief en trouw met een good sense of humour, dit ras is een echte allrounder. Wij kunnen ons het leven zonder niet voorstellen!
We hebben af en toe een nestje en fokken volgens de regels van de BHC (Belgische Hovawart Club) en de IHF (International Hovawart Federation). Dit betekent met de HD-, gezondheids- en karakterkeuringen (ztp), die voor zowel de moeder als de vader van de pups gelden. Onze pups worden voor minstens zeven en een halve week à acht weken bij ons thuis gehouden en goed gesocialiseerd. Ze krijgen een microchip, eerste inenting, europees paspoort, puppy karaktertest en een officieel FCI Stamboom van de KMSH (Koninklijke Maatschappij Sint-Hubertus). Voor alle worpen geboren vanaf 01/01/2009 moeten beide ouderdieren en minstens één van de pups verplicht gecontroleerd worden op de afstamming door een DNA-test. Ter informatie: in Europa ligt de doorsnee prijs voor een Hovawartpup die volgens officiële clubregels gefokt is door een erkende fokker tussen de 900 en 1100 euro.

van de Hoevemeester Hovawarts are now based in Limburg, Belgium; a lovely central part of western Europe. Murray & Hester have many years of experience and dedication, celebrating more than 25 years of Hovawart ownership. We are owners and hobby breeders of the Hovawart in Europe, our first (Hofmeester) litters were bred and born in the United Kingdom where we lived until 2003.
We have the occasional litter and breed according to BHC (Belgian Hovawart Club) and IHF (International Hovawart Federation) rules which means the parents have satisfactory healths tests and ztp (official assessments approved for breeding). The pups are born and reared in a homely environment, get well socialized and stay with us until they are at least seven and a half to eight weeks old. All our pups are sold with a microchip, their first inoculation, a european passport, the puppy character assessment and the official FCI pedigree provided by the Belgian Kennel Club KMSH. New Kennel Club rule, Obligatory DNA profiling for all litters born after 01/01/2009.
