We have known, owned and loved many wonderful dogs. Here we remember some great dogs who have all been very special to us in their own individual way.
Henry our first dog 1980-1994. English Springer Spaniel rescued from the RSPCA. He was a very funny dog with a rock solid character. A very special dog, we can write a book about him!
Homested Alexus alias Sam was our first Hovawart 1984-1996. He was the 25th Hovawart to be registered by the Kennel Club in London. The breed then was still very rare. His father was Minches Fluke a son of the first two imported Hovawarts to the UK. His mother was Kaunottaren Christina an import from Finland who had 2 litters in the UK. Sam was an extreme loyal and loving dog but he was also very dominant. We learned a lot from him. Although the numbers of Hovawarts were low and his hip score good he was not used for breeding as he had OCD and a very headstrong character. He was probably the most loyal dog ever.
Elsa 1988-1999. Daughter of Hofwarth Blondel X Kynaf Tegen. She was our first blond female. She was a beautiful big and sweet dog. She had many great wins at shows and was a real beauty but unfortunately she suffered from many health problems such as HD, hypothyroidism and bone cancer. She had an adorable character.
Bartje, Trustenberg Ulvhedin de Hofmeester 1994-1999. From our joint Trustenberg-Hofmeester litter. He was the pup I could not part with so we kept him. The sweetest cuddle-pup ever and as the saying goes; 'only the good die young'!
Ube. Trustenberg Ube de Hofmeester 1994-2005. A very special girl, one in a million!
Righto. Flair van de Hoevemeester 2006-2008. Tragically gone too soon.
Caius. Ulaf Freya's Walhall 1986-2009. The big boy had a good long life.
